In a statement on Wednesday, Esipisu said the head of state is set to begin his countrywide tour with five counties this week.

"The President will kick-off his tours with visits to Muranga, Nyeri, Meru, Laikipia and Kirinyaga counties this week," the statement said.

"Mombasa and Nakuru and many more counties are lined up as the next areas President Uhuru Kenyatta will visit to urge Kenyans to register to vote," the statement continued.

Esipisu noted that the President Kenyatta desires to see many Kenyans enlist themselves as voters.

The month-long second phase of the mass voter registration process started on Monday and is set to run for one month.
