The business community in Uasin Gishu has urged  President Uhuru Kenyatta don’t to take lightly the swearing in of the opposition leader Raila Odinga slated for January 30.

Led by the proprietor of Queen gardens hotel Joseph Wainaina they said this will lead to political instability thus business running at loses.

“As businessmen from this region we want to urge president Kenyatta not allow the swearing on of the opposition leader Raila Odinga to take place as planned since this might lead to tribal war as witnessed in 2007 and our businesses will be badly affected. He should act at speed to stop this mess before things get out of hand,” he said in Eldoret town, Saturday.

“His intention is not to be sworn in but to overthrow the legally elected government which will lead to bloodshed for him to ascend to power,” he added.

They, however, urged hawkers in Eldoret town to obey the county government’s rules and sell their goods where they are assigned.

“This will help to prevent confrontation by the county askaris which has been the order of the day. Let us maintain order and all will be well,” noted Wainaina.
