President Uhuru Kenyatta seems to have hit the ground running, after he officiated his first official ceremony today, Thursday.
Coming two days after being sworn in as the fifth president of the country, the president headed to Nakuru for the graduation of cadet officers.
Speaking at the event, the commander-in-chief urged the officers to use their earned experience to fight terrorism, and help the country become a better place.
“I believe we will win this fight. Our defence forces remain steadfast in ensuring our country is safe. I want to also urge all Kenyans to help in destroying the effectiveness of the plans of those who terrorize us since the vice cannot be defeated by military might alone,”
He added: “Prosperity of our nation depends on crucial aspects of security and peace, governance and sound economic development policies are brought to act on each other for the advancement of our society,”
He thanked the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) for living up to expectations and ensuring that Kenyans of different backgrounds work together in harmony.
He also thanked families and friends of the young officers for their patience as the officers trained, urging them to continue guiding them more.
