President Uhuru Kenyatta promised to improve the lives of many youths if re-elected for a second term in the Augst elections.

Speaking in Igoji on Saturday during a political rally, the head of state said that he will ensure youths secure paid internship programme for all graduates of middle-level colleges and universities.

“Youths will be able to earn a stipend while working in government departments and private companies as they gain the much needed experience to get full-time jobs or open businesses that can employ even more youths,” President Kenyatta said.

The president further announced that empowering the youth was one of his key areas in the next term.

Kenyatta was accompanied by his Deputy, William Ruto and a host of other leaders from the ruling Jubilee coalition.

The duo further accused Nasa’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga of dividing Kenyans along tribal lines, saying his sentiments two weeks ago were worrying.

Odinga has been accused by Jubilee Party leaders of inciting Kenyans and propagating propaganda, after a statement he gave during a rally in Kajiado.
