President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again highlighted on the strengths that the county government and the national government need to work on to deliver for Kenyans.
Speaking while addressing governors at the annual governors’ conference in Kwale, the president said devolution has worked well over the years and promised to push further for the same.
“Every county is now a fully-fledged Centre of economic development. No one has been left behind on the road of development,” said the president.
He, however, challenged the governors, saying they still have a long way to go to fully achieve maximum gains.
“Let us turn our attention to the road that is ahead of us. This is my second term in office, which means, one has to choose their priorities carefully. For me, I have some development priorities that I announced on Jamhuri Day celebrations,”
“The strength of unity of our people at all levels secondly is to improve the quality lives of lives through the provision of universal healthcare, thirdly, to increase access to affordable housing, and lastly to ensure food and nutritional security,” he added.
He asked the governors to join him in ensuring they deliver on the promises he has made to Kenyans.
