President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated that he is committed to ensuring he offers the youth an opportunity to grow.
Speaking on Thursday during the ongoing governors’ conference in Kwale, Kenyatta said he is committed to creating employment opportunities for the young generation.
To achieve this, Kenyatta said his government will focus on expanding the manufacturing industry, which will in return create job opportunities.
“Last, it is to enhance job creation for our young population by focusing on the expansion of our manufacturing sector,” he said.
“The Kenyans who elected us to represent them expect nothing less. It is our responsibility to get to work and deliver. They expect us to consult, cooperate, and coordinate our activities, no Kenyans ever for disorder or disputing government,”
“The last four years have not been totally free, consultation at times took a back seat on both levels of government and we have had ups and downs,” he added.
He further urged both governments to work together in delivering for Kenyans, regardless of their party affiliations.
“The strength of unity of our people at all levels, secondly is to improve the quality lives of lives through the provision of universal healthcare, thirdly, to increase access to affordable housing, and lastly to ensure food and nutritional security,” he added.
