Many would wonder why a president complete with the trappings of power and whose sojourns overseas is fully funded by taxpayers money would overlook such a favour.
Howeve, right across the borders is a man whose economical approach to issues is confounding all and sundry.
That Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli hates spending is not in doubt.
The bespectacled Head of State over the weekend left journalists startled after telling them that he rarely goes about globe-trotting unlike his peers especially from Africa because he does not like spending.
"I have been invited to several meetings both continentally and even abroad but I rarely attend them because they are costly and I always prefer saving," he said.
Magufuli was conspicuously missing during the Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development (TICAD) held in Nairobi over the weekend and which was attended by a number of African Heads of States.
