Though his Nyayo regime has been accused of promoting absolute rule and making attempts to suppress opposition and multiparty democracy, he made many achievements.

A good portion of Kenyans who were lucky enough to experience his rule have hailed him as a skilled leader.

Moi also made history as the longest serving head of state in the nation, clocking 24-years.

He took over in 1979 and served until 2022 when he retired.

The record is most likely to remain intact with the current constitution indicating that no person will be allowed to hold the top seat in the capacity of a President for more than 10 years.
