President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday admitted while on a campaign mission in Kisii town that he chose to drive through the worst roads in the area in order to have a first-hand taste of how bad the situation was.

"I am used to flying in the skies but today I must admit that this road is in a poor state. I have heard your cries and once I get to Nairobi.I will ensure that we have enough funds to improve the state of this major road," said President Uhuru.

Uhuru was in shock after realization that the roads in the area were in bad shape that he promised the people of Kisii town that he will set aside funds for tarmacking Jogoo-Nyatieko, Nyatieko-Nyakoe and Nyachenge-Tabaka roads.

Residents of Kisii town say that they have suffered and endured many losses due to the bad conditions of the roads.

However, the opposition says that the move was an act to sway the people of Kisii to vote for Uhuru.
