President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are set to attend the memorial service of the victims of the tragic Solai Dam tragedy.
The event which will be held in Nakuru county will primarily be aimed at honoring those who lost their lives.
Confirming through his official twitter handle, the President said he will be there at the event to pray with the public and console the victims.
"I will pray with the people of Nakuru tomorrow, Wednesday, May 16th 2018, in honour of our brothers and sisters who died in Solai. God comfort their families and the entire village that was affected. The Inter-denominational prayers will start at 10am," said the President of Kenya.
The President had earlier issued a statement on Sunday, May 12 , condoling with families who had lost loved ones.
As at Monday, May 14, 47 people had been confirmed dead while about 5,000 others were displaced.
The tragedy saw thousands of people displaced after Solai Dam broke its walls.
The displaced are housed in a temporal camp as they try to recollect their lives.
Amid public pressure, Patel finally issued an apology and a message of condolences to the victims.
"We the Patel family of the Solai and the members of the Patel farm management would like to express our deepest condolences," read part of the apology letter.
The event in Nakuru will be attended by leaders from all the parts of the country.
