Civil Society Organisations in Kisumu have hailed the government for making the desired changes in security apparatus in the country. Vincent Odhiambo, a member of Kisumu Youth Forum said the changes are long overdue and must not stop at the replacement of cabinet secretary for internal security. “The country expects more heads to roll so that people of integrity and ready to work for the country are appointed,” he said. Odhiambo said for a secure country the government must act decisively with security agents who are sleeping on their jobs. He said Kenyans voted for a new constitution with hope that better things were expected and not a deteriorated security. Addressing the Press in Kisumu after a meeting on insecurity and inter-ethnic relations in Kenya, Odhiambo said there is no quick-fix to address runaway insecurity in the country. “What we all know is that it is not easy to fix this insecurity menace overnight but a strong security framework should be put in place to ensure our security is guaranteed,” he said. He said the government must put in place a strong framework to ensure security of Kenyans is guaranteed. Odhiambo said the government must lead in front to better security of Kenyans instead of passing the baton back to them
