President Uhuru Kenyatta visited St Monica Chakol Girls Secondary school on Thursday during his tour of Teso South.
The school received a special supper worth Sh300,000 from the president as well.
He further urged the students to put their best foot forward in school.
The Jubilee leader received a warm welcome from locals in the area, despite it being a stronghold for the opposition party.
Chants of 'Jubilee Tena' could be heard through the crowd during his rally tour.
The incumbent President made many promises to locals while asking for a second term and asked them to embrace peace during the election period.
"As the government, we have initiated various projects in this region among them the construction of Okame Technical Training Institute, Alupe University, tarmacking of Busia-Malaba road and upgrading of two health facilities to the tune of Sh800million," the head of state said as reported by The Star.
He went on to assure residents that he plans to improve infrastructure in the region and that they should grant him another term.
"As from next year, plans are underway to have free day secondary education from form one to form four, that means that we shall have reduced the burden of bringing up kids, yours will be to give birth," the President said.
