President Uhuru Kenyatta has broken his silence on the current ‘corruption and embezzlement of public funds’ syndicate going on in the country and after arrest of NYS officials.

Speaking at statehouse after a visit by Kenya high school students and teachers to obtain their new 51 seater bus and gym equipment which the president had pledged sometimes back, Uhuru said that unethical people will be not tolerated.

“We are not going to tolerate unethical people. People with responsibility must be ready to serve and not to be served” the head of state stated as he reiterated his support for anti-graft.  

He also warned that those caught in the web of corruption will be dealt with decisively and firmly.

The move comes after major calls from Kenyans of all walks of life to the president to address the corruption menace in the public service institutions and see to it that those found culpable face the law.

The country has recently experienced an upsurge in the number cases of alleged unethical behavior from high profile public officials that has led to loss of billions of taxpayers’ money through unscrupulous means. 

The scandals have rocked Kenya power and lighting company (KPLC), National Youth Service (NYS) and National cereals and produce board.
