President Uhuru Kenyatta has come out to explain the main lesson he learned during last years long electioneering period.
Speaking on Wednesday during State of the Nation address, President Uhuru said that there was a need to restrain political competition in the country in order to save the country.
"Last year taught me if we don't put an end to an unrestrained political competition it will put an end to Kenya. You all saw consequences of last year and the election-lives lost, our unity sapped.Never again should a Kenyan life be lost for politic's sake," stated President Uhuru.
This comes as the head of state agreed to bury the hatchet with Opposition chief Raila Odinga following bitter rivalry during the polls.
The new leaders have appointed a 14 -member team that will foresee the implementation of the unity accord.
