President Uhuru Kenyatta has commended Kenyans, especially Jubilee supporters, for remaining calm and upholding peace after a Supreme court ruling that nullified his win.
Speaking on Saturday, the Head of State said that even though they did not agree with the Supreme Court’s ruling that nullified his election his supporters remained calm
“I am proud because you have proved that unlike our opponents, you are people who believe in peace and uphold the rule of law,” President Kenyatta said.
He was speaking when he met Jubilee MCAs at State House Nairobi.
Saying Jubilee will remain focused of improving the welfare of Kenyans despite the Supreme Court’s ruling that nullified his re-election, President Kenyatta asked the MCAs both from Jubilee and affiliated parties to avoid wrangles and work together with governors to deliver service to residents.
On Friday, the Supreme Court under Justice Maraga nullified President Uhuru's win after NASA had filed a court petition challenging the outcome of the August 8 polls.
