President Uhuru Kenyatta has won many hearts after apologizing to Kenyans over the 2017 divisive politics.
Speaking during his address on the state of the nation, Kenyatta asked all who might have been hurt by any of his actions or that of any political leader to forgive.
“If there was anything I said last year that hurt or wounded you, if I damaged the unity of this country in any way, I ask you to forgive me, and to join me in repairing that harm," he said.
Kenyatta's address was laced with reconciliatory tone all through.
In Nakuru, residents jammed entertainment joints to listen to the president.
"This is a God sent leader, where have you have a whole president saying sorry?" Milka Gikono, a resident said.
Gikono said the president has embarked on a path that might see communities united than never before.
A number of residents interviewed by this writer were happy with the move asking Kenyans to take cue from Kenyatta and forgive each other.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri also hailed the president and called on all politicians to shake hands and heal Kenya.
