Speaking at the weekend prayer rally for the termination of the ICC cases, he strongly condemned the court for its sheer liking for the African cases. He said Kenya now has a strong and able judiciary that can comfortably deal with its domestic cases.

Addressing the congregation in Swahili, the commander in chief expressed his concern that the Kenyan cases that were lately terminated were politically motivated. He was also quick to say that the ICC chapter had been closed in the country and nothing more or less. This now spells that the two Kenyans accused at the international court for witness interference have nothing to worry for the Jubilee government has a stand behind them.

Kenyattas’ sentiments came at a time when the office of the prosecutor cited frustrations from the Kenyan government as one of the reasons for the failure of the cases.

Ruto and Sangs’ cases were terminated on 5th of April 2016 due to insufficient evidence that could vindicate the duo behind the bars of the global court.
