President Uhuru Kenyatta has told Kiambu church leaders to lead by example as they preach to the public to help his government gain the trust of Kenyans.
Speaking in Mukuyu PCEA church in Juja sub-county over the weekend, the president condemned churches who obtain money by false pretence, saying that the Pastor Kanyari example can make people lose trust in his government.
The head of state said that his government has been working hard to tame terrorists in the country and the church was the least of his worries, which he said he was wrong and vowed to probe every church to apprehend other conmen and women.
“Terrorists have been our number one target but it seems they have come down to the churches which was the least of my worries but I will do everything possible to tame those involved,” Kenyatta said.
He also condemned the believers who send money via M-Pesa to the fake clergymen to receive a miracle, which he termed as naïve and gullible.
The resident was introduced to all the Juja sub-county clergymen after the event.
