As the election day is approaching, candidates across the country are busy campaigning for themselves with the presidential candidates traversing different counties to convince voters to elect for them.
However, one of the eight presidential candidates has been missing in action since the campaigns officially kicked off.
With just 11 days left to the August 8 pols, UDF presidential candidate Cyrus Jirongo has still not yet held any rally.
The UDF candidate also skipped the presidential debate that was held on Monday, 24 at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Karen, Nairobi.
The Star reports efforts to reach him were futile since he neither answered phones calls nor responded to messages.
Lugari UDP parliamentary aspirant Charles Werangai told the daily that Jirongo was focused for the top seat “until some challenges arose.” He however did not reveal the challenges.
Jirongo is seeking to unseat Jubilee’s president Uhuru Kenyatta in the State House race.
He will also face off with the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga, Abduba Dida (Alliance for Real Change), Ekuru Aukot (Thirdway Alliance) and independents Michael Wainaina, Joe Nyagah, and Japheth Kaluyu.
