A Presidential aspirant who was charged with attempted suicide on Monday at IEBC offices has sued the electoral body.

Solomon Gichira wants the High Court to allow him present his signatures to the IEBC.

According to Gichira, he might be denied the right to vie as an independent candidate for the office of the President.

He has accused IEBC of refusing to allow him to submit his list of signatures of supporters as required by locking him out of the exercise of presenting nominations papers at KICC.

“There is an extremely urgent need to rein on IEBC before any ballot paper for the Presidential elections are printed,” said Mr Gichira.

Gichira who is represented by Gachie Mwanza, argues that he was unreasonably ‘locked out of KICC on grounds that the time had lapsed.

He claims that he arrived at the venue on his submissions had been rejected on the first instance.

On Monday, Gichira was charged and released on a cash bail of Sh200,000 after being accused of attempting to jump off IEBC offices.
