Mong’are argued that Ethuro allowed nominated Senator Hosea Ochwang’i to vote on behalf of Kisii Senator Chris Obure without adhering to the law.

Ethuro barred another nominated senator, Janet Ong’era, from voting despite having earlier on nominated by Obure to transact businesses on his behalf.

“I think Cord has a strong case against the speaker because he clearly flouted laws knowingly. The standing orders, regardless who Obure had nominated, allows the delegation to consult before voting,” he said.

“Ong’era informed the speaker that Ochwang’i had not consulted her and that by default, is a strong case against the speaker,” he added.

Okong’o, who is also preparing impeachment of President Uhuru Kenyatta, adds that the High Court can offer a temporary injunction that would prevent the president from signing the controversial amendments to election laws till the case is heard.
