Two vehicles assigned to the Presidential escort were on Thursday morning nabbed by officials from the National Transport and Safety Authority along the Meru-Nanyuki road.
It is believed that the vehicles were heading to Marsabit County where President Kenyatta was expected to tour later in the day.
NTSA conducted a crackdown along the highway where dozens of vehicles found on the wrong side of the law were impounded.
Due to the urgency of the matter, the vehicles were later cleared and allowed to proceed to Marsabit.
During the crackdown, NTSA officials stated that their intention was to educate motorists on safe usage of roads.
