[Photo|Courtesy]The National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential petition kicked-off at the Supreme Court, Saturday night, where Chief Justice David Maraga led the court on the pre-trial conference.Nasa's Raila Odinga, is contesting the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, in the August 8 polls, and seeks nullification of the election.Uhuru, and the electoral agency IEBC which declared him winner, are seeking to dismiss Nasa's demands, and uphold Uhuru's victory. All parties tabled their arguments before the court, ahead of the hearing, which kicks off Monday August 28.However, Nasa has made one thing clear before the court. The alliance which is being led by Senior council James Orengo, wants the Court to compel the IEBC, to grant them access to its servers that were used in the elections.According to Nasa, the servers were hacked, by Uhuru's Jubilee Party, a move that saw him maintain an 11 per cent lead ahead of Raila, since tallying started, regardless of the number of votes reaching the National tallying centre."The grant of access to the information and data sought is coterminous with the first respondent's duty to be transparent and credible," Nasa argued."In order to ensure a just and fair determination of the petition, and in particular the accuracy, security, verifiability, accountability and transparency of the said transmission system, it is only proper and just that Honourable Court and the Parties be granted the access to all the information and data sought," added Nasa.According to the coalition, opening of the IEBC servers will largely help the court in determining the ruling of the petition.
