An IEBC Presiding Officer in charge of Bosose ELCK in Nyamira County has been subjected to online criticism following his unprecedented omission in a crucial Form 34A.
Thomas Nyakwama was in charge of the station where apparently Chief Justice David Maraga voted in Thursday’s poll, a move further elicited fierce debate on the credibility of electoral agency.
“He just gets the form, carelessly fills it and above all, commits an irregularity where the CJ votes,” said Peter Nyakego.
On September, Supreme Court annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory due to massive ‘illegalities and irregularities’ committed by the IEBC.
And social media users could not spare the incompetence by the commission which has widely been criticized by being part of the current political quagmire in the country.
“Most of us boycotted yet the commission could not still get it right,” said Mary Abuga, in reference to poor turnout following Raila Odinga’s last minute withdrawal from the race.
A critical examination of the form shows the officer failed to indicate the total number of voters in the polling station, despite strict instructions from the commission.
President Uhuru Kenyatta managed to score 120 votes out of the 134 who voted in a polling station that had a total of 638 registered voters.
