[Photo| Courtesy]Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has differed with his Nandi Hills counterpart Alfred Keter, over controversial parliamentary committee election.Despite calls by Jubilee deputy party leader Deputy President William Ruto, party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Majority Whip Ben Washiali, Keter declined to relinquish his committee seat.Jubilee Party wants Keter, David Bowen (Marakwet), Alex Kosgey (Emgwen) and Sila Tiren (Moiben) to relinquish their seats following a committee election at the National Assembly. The party said the seats should be allocated to other members to ensure regional balance, but the four are defiant. On Saturday, Keter and Sudi met at the funeral service of the late Kogo Ann Chepnyango Muge, mother to KMTC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Peter Tum in Nandi Hills, where several other Jubilee leaders were present.Keter defended his election, saying those asking him to relinquish the seat had hidden agenda and that he would not resign. He was elected to chair the National Assembly's Labour Committee.According to him, fellow MPs who elected him were of sound mind and that the Executive should not be used to control parliament matters. However, Sudi who is Keter's close ally differed with him on the matter."My brother Keter knows that he is my good friend but on this, no. Let's tell each other the truth. Leave that seat to others for regional balance," Sudi said shortly after Keter's address. Also present was Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who called on Jubilee MPs to solve their parliamentary issues while in parliament.
