This comes a day after Nyagarama admitted rampant corruption in county government offices in what he attributed to ‘culture of tokenism’.

In a press statement released on Monday by the group’s spokesperson Nyambega Gisesa, they termed Nyagarama as a 'referee of corruption' and County Secretary Erick Onchana a 'captain of graft'.

“The County government is hell-bent in fighting corruption and it is shocking that he even admitted on Sunday in public that many officials are corrupt. He knows these officials yet he is reluctant to crack a whip on them,” read the statement.

“We demand that he resigns from his seat because he has shown signs that he is not bothered to restore sanity in our county. In fact Nyagarama is the referee of corruption, County Secretary Erick Onchana is the captain and the chief officers are players of graft,” Gisesa added in his two paged statement.

They also accused the governor of awarding multi-million pharmaceutical contracts to his daughter Emily Nyagarama.

“Nyagarama is running the county government as his own kiosk. We are aware of multimillion pharmaceuticals tenders given to her daughter Emily (Nyagarama) or companies associated to her. This is against procurement regulations,” he said.

“The health department is the most funded Sh1.5 billion and we have evidence that at least Sh500 million cannot be accounted for because of cartels led by Emily,” he added.

They also urged EACC to investigate all county executive committee members and called for their resignation with immediate effect.

“The executive committee members are not clean too. They are being used by their boss to loot public resources. We urge EACC and the office of Auditor General to investigate and initiate corruption proceedings against them,” Nyambega said.
