As the question of who will be Cord's presidential candidate in the 2017 poll remains unanswered, pressure is continuing to mount on ODM leader Raila Odinga to endorse his co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka for the top seat in the forthcoming elections.

According to Wiper Party coordinator in Kisumu Duncan Nyumba, Raila should honor the MoU which they signed in 2012 that started that Kalonzo should be the coalition's flag bearer in 2017.

"Kalonzo is a renowned and seasoned politician capable of providing servant visionary looking forward leadership this country has been yearning for over years," Nyumba was quoted by the Star as saying on Thursday.

Nyumba said Raila who has been advocating for democracy in the country should prove it by endorsing Kalonzo's bid.

"This will be of benefit not only to ODM but the entire Cord family," he added.

This comes at a time when the Cord leadership is also planning to rope in Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi into its political arrangement with a view of strengthening its Western political base.
