Mwingi Central MCA Mary Sila has castigated area MP Gideon Mulyungi over her remarks against Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.
She said Mulyungi’s warning to Ngilu not to step foot in the constituency is uncalled for.
Sila addressed the press in Mwingi town on Monday.
She asked Mulyungi to apologize to the governor.
Sila said Mulyungi has no powers to stop Ngilu from visiting the constituency.
“It is unfortunate that Mulyungi can utter such disgraceful remarks against governor Ngilu and must he no otherwise but to apologize,” Sila said.
The MCA accused Mulyungi of developing a habit of insulting leaders.
She asked the governor to take legal action against the MP if he refuses to apologize.
Kitui County Executive for Tourism and Culture Patrick Koki Musau also castigated Mulyungi.
He said Mulyungi’s remarks are derogatory hence the MP has to apologize to the Kitui governor.
Speaking in Mwingi Town on Monday, Musau said Ngilu does not require anyone’s permission to visit the constituency or any other part of the county.
On Sunday, Mulyungi allegedly warned Ngilu against setting foot in his constituency without his permission.
Mulyungi claimed that Ngilu has been organizing meetings in his constituency without consulting her.
The Wiper MP also accused governor Ngilu of allegedly plotting to sabotage Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.
