Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako wants Kenyatta National Hospital Chief Executive Officer Lilly Koros to resign.
Panyako who condemned the alleged rape claims by nursing mothers wondered why such a facility that is regionally celebrated could fail to have CCTV cameras to help fasten the verification of such cases whenever they arise.
He spoke as a Kibra based women’s lobby group called for speedy investigations into the matter, and wants those found culpable brought to book if the claims are authenticated.
He called on KNH management to prioritize the safety of expectant and nursing mothers.
Led by Hamida Twahir who is the Chairperson of Kibera Local Forum, the women at the same time called for speedy investigations into the allegations.
Such were the called by Nyandarua Women Representative Faith Gitau who called for enhanced security within the hospital premises amid the ongoing probe.
The Health ministry has since ordered a probe into the allegations.
