Jostling for appointments in President Uhuru Kenyatta's new Cabinet has gone a notch higher with businessmen from his home county of Kiambu making their wishes known.Thika investors Karanja Muturi and James Gichuki have urged the Head of State to appoint former Kirinyaga gubernatorial aspirant Martha Karua to the much-awaited Cabinet.Muturi said Karua would best represent Mt Kenya region as a minister due to her proven record and firmness in her quest for justice."She is a strong leader with a proven record of service delivery who can help the President deliver on his promises and shape his legacy," said Muturi on Wednesday. On his part, Gichuki said the former Minister for Justice would defend Uhuru from NASA's onslaught if appointed to the government."We all know how Karua fought for Kibaki (retired president) when he was under sustained attacks from Raila's ODM. Uhuru should consider her for appointment as she would fiercely defend Jubilee from NASA which is determined to destabalise the government," the businessman said. The President recently named nine Cabinet Secretaries without indicating when he would constitute his full team.He only retained 6 CSs from the 19 who served in his first term.
