Nancy Asiko Onyango, a Kenyan, has been appointed as the Director of Internal Audit by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Christine Lagarde, IMF's Managing Director, announced the development yesterday
Asiko's responsibility will be to conduct independent probes of the IMF's internal controls and governance processes.
Clare Brady, who is the incumbent, will leave office in February 2018 for Nancy Asiko Onyango to take over.
Lagarde said that Onyango was highly qualified for the duties ahead of her and that she would deliver.
''Ms. Onyango brings to the Fund more than 25 years of experience in internal audit, strategic risk management, corporate governance, and IT risk management,'' Ms. Lagarde said in a public statement.
Onyango was most recently CEO at Reliance Risk Advisory Solutions based in Kenya.
