The eight are almost assured of being part of the next county Assembly keeping in mind that Uasin Gishu is a Jubilee stronghold and securing the party ticket is as good as winning the general election.

Those who sailed through the stormy party primaries are the Assembly's leader of majority who is also the Karuna/Mibeki MCA Josphat Lowoi, Deputy Speaker who represents Kapsaos ward Hosea Lamai, Ng'enyilel MCA who is also the Assembly's Chief Whip David Sing'oei and Huruma MCA Peter Chomba.

Others are Francis Muya (Langas), Hillary Rono (Kipkenyo), Patrick Bundotich (Tarakwa) and Racecourse MCA Amos Kiptanui.

Notable MCA's in Uasin Gishu who lost in the party primaries are Kimumu's Joseph Ruto who once served as the Mayor in the defunct Municipal council of Eldoret, Jeremiah Sang'- the Kamagut MCA who chairs the Assembly's Finance Committee, as well as Daniel Sanga (Moisbrigde) and Isaac Chirchir (Soy) who were among the best debaters at the Assembly.

All the current women MCA's in the county also lost to the male aspirants.

Gilbert Kiptoo Bett beat Rebecca Magut to secure Kuinet/Kapsuswa ticket, Josephine Tireito lost the Kipchamo/Cheptiret nomination to Gilbert Tenai, while Edwin Korir won the Simat/Kapseret ticket where the incumbent Pauline Tuwei opted not to vie.
