Children suffering from mental conditions at Joseph Kangethe Primary School in Kibera constituency have a reason to smile.
This is after they were given their special classes on Thursday courtesy of area MP, Ken Okoth.
This will help the problem where over 50 pupils from the school, who were commonly sharing same small classrooms with other disabled children, will now enjoy new classes accompanied by special teachers.
During the official handing over of the classroom, the MP said he will ensure the constituency fund constructs more classes for the children to enhance education in the area.
“This is the first autism class in a public primary school in Kibera constituency and this will go a long for young children acquisition of life skills”, said Okoth.
According to Okoth, there are many children who study in bad classes in most schools and that is why we need to change in Kibera.
The legislator noted that bad condition for classes hinders their development as a teacher cannot handle all the different challenges at ago.
