Having performed well in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), Ayany Primary School teachers were given a lunch treat courtesy of the area MP.
The aim of the visit was to celebrate the academic progress of the pupils to congratulate and motivate the teachers for making Ayany shine in the country. The school was rated the most child-friendly school in Kenya.
Kibera MP, Ken Okoth, said Kibera children deserve schools like Ayany.
''The children of Kibera deserve transformative schools and I am committed to supporting them,'' said Okoth.
Teachers and the MP discussed the challenges faced by the school and discussed how the challenges can be tackled. They also agreed to boost academic excellence, co-curricular activities and character education of the children.
The move is meant to drive the campaign of education first, which has been well received by parents and teachers all over Kibera.
