Sengani Girls High School Principal Stella Wambua has been ordered to re-admit a four form girl after expelling her for being pregnant.
Machakos TSC director of education Muturi Ireri issued the directive to the principal following public outcry.
Muturi said that the principal of the school has gone against the Ministry of Education’s policy by attempting to end the academic journey of the student.
A letter seen by the Star, shows that Muturi had ordered for the girl to go back to school and continue with her education like other students in the county. Many girls in this part of the nation have continued to drop out of school because of pregnancies and early marriages among other reasons.
Leaders, Ministry of Education and parents have been calling upon different stakeholders to ensure that the girl child has an opportunity to complete school.
Some of the challenges the Ministry has been facing is the collusion of parents with those who have impregnated school going girls to fight justice.
Reports have indicated that some parents take money at the expense of their children education rather than letting justice to take its course.
