An analysis of this year's KCSE results shows that boys performed dismally, with girls majorly taking top positions.Mark Wandera, a principal at Booker Academy in Kakamega County, has attributed the poor performance on the prevalence of betting especially amongst boys.''Much of their attention is taken up by betting and analysing football fixtures. They have little time to focus on their studies and that is negatively affecting their performance,'' he said. The principal also blamed indiscipline on the poor performance, saying that teachers would rather focus on girls who are disciplined are ready to listen and pay attention.
