Addressing the press on Tuesday at a Kisii hotel the Secretary said that the Principal cannot burn dormitories as a way of destroying evidence since the dormitory does not keep any school documents.

“It was so embarrassing for the CS to say that principals are burning schools as one way of destroying evidence, in the real sense the fire has been affecting dormitories, how can a principal burn the dormitory which does not have any document,” said Obwocha.

Obwocha has now challenged the Matiang'i to come up with measures on how to curb the fire incidents without blaming the principals.

“Let the CS go back to the drawing board and come up with measures which will address this, indicting principals will not solve the matter,” he said.

“If the principal has overstayed in school and has no performance record we have TSC which is mandated to work upon that,” said Obwocha.

The Kuppet official said that the this is that time stakeholders needs to be included in decision making.
