It is alleged that some unknown people have been calling school principals, students and parents, claiming that the results of their children and students have a problem and demand to be bribed.

The suspects claim that if the parents pay them money, the results of their children will be rectified and they will receive good results.

Speaking at a meeting with teachers in the District, Ogamba said that the ‘callers’ are con people, and are only lying to people and warned that the ministry of education does not work like that, and has never and will never work that way.

“I want to ask you to be wary because there are con people claiming to work with the examinations body and will ask to send money to help you change your students results, do not fall prey because the ministry does not work that way,” said Ogamba.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT Secretary General Masaba North branch Meshack Obonyo also said that one of the suspects was a teacher from Kisii South, and no measure has been taken against him even after he was reported.

He however said that they have reported the matter and the police are on with investigations, as he called on the people to be careful not to fall prey to these cons.
