[Photo/Standard]Bungoma clergy have asked the newly elected Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati to prioritise the fight on corruption. The religious leaders noted that the county was far behind in terms of development due to rampant corruption that was witnessed under the administration of former governor Kenneth Lusaka.Led by Alex Masika and Elima Wafula, the clergy hoped that Wangamati's government will end the graft in the region."Development has gone down because money is not doing what it’s supposed to do. We had a lot of misplaced priorities in last the regime," Masika said."We are praying that the new government ends corruption. Once we are free from corruption, we will be miles ahead in various sectors," he added. The church leaders further asked residents and leaders to support Wangamati and deputy governor Charles Ngome by giving them time to deliver their promises. They spoke on Tuesday in Webuye town.
