Nine inmates on Thursday escaped from Kimilili police station ahead of being arraigned in court.
They had been transferred to the cells from Bungoma government prison earlier Wednesday and were to be arraigned at the Kimilili law court on various charges.
Officers at the station have however not revealed their names and charges.
Only a disabled inmate was left behind.
Confirming the incident, Bungoma OCPD Mary Wakuu said two police officers are under investigation over the matter.
