Police in Kisii has seized three suspects who escaped from Kisii Law Court cells last month.
Kisii county police boss Hassan Abdi said the three other suspects, two of them facing robbery with violence charges are still at large.
"We are conducting investigations to determine the motive even as we extend the search for the other suspects," said Abdi.
He said the crime in the region had declined due to increased police patrols.
"Police officers are on patrol every time. This has helped curb criminal activities in the region," he said.
The police boss warned that anybody found breaking the law during this time of presidential campaigns will be arrested and charged.
"Supporters who will take advantage of the ongoing presidential campaigns to cause violence and rob people's property will be arrested and charged in court. Peace should remain before and after the October 26 polls," he added.
