Confirming the incident, Yatta Prison Superintendent Joshua Mutiso said the mishap happened on May 30 but the officer had been released on bond.

"The officer named Dominic Kiseki who is a constable of our prisons pointed a gun at the Yatta Prison Assistant Superintendent Daniel Kaloki," said Mutiso.

According to the Yatta Prison Superintendent, the officer threatened the Deputy in-charge of Yatta Prison after a disagreement and the suspect has been free on bail before he was arrested again on Thursday.

"Constable Kiseki is accused of pointing a gun and he only agreed to put it away after the Deputy Kaloki knelt down and begged him not to shoot," he added.

The suspected officer was arrested and taken to the Kithimani Police Station pending further investigations.
