A rare incident was witnessed on Friday at Kisii Law Court when over ten-armed prison warders escorted a 35-year-old inmate to face trial following his daring attempt to sneak out of Kisii prisons.
Moses Nyang'au was heavily guarded in a manner that shocked people in the courts.
He pleaded not guilty before Kisii Chief Magistrate, John Njoroge on Friday afternoon.
According to the court records the convict was jailed for life in March 2, 2011 following a Judgment by a Bomet court after it found him guilty of robbery with violence.
It is said that he committed the crime in 2005.
In the new case, it is reported that on December 15, 2017 at around five, Nyang'au attempted to escape by cutting a cells roof in the prison.
Njoroge directed that the convict be supplied with witness statements pertaining to his trial which was fixed for hearing on March 24, this year.
