An inmate at the Eldoret GK prison has been declared Miss Eldoret.
Victoria Letting, 25, defied all odds to bag one of the most coveted prize.
The new beauty pageant was arrested for murder but she is yet to be charged over the accusations leveled against her.
Letting emerged the best in a competition that attracted 15 participants.
Speaking after being crowned the winner of the competition, Letting could not hide her joy.
She said that she did not expect to emerge the top despite being confident that she will do well during the competition.
''I did not expect to win. It has come as a surprise. I give God the glory because everyone participating in the context was equally up to the task,'' Letting said, as quoted by the Star.
Letting encouraged women facing cases in court to come out and fight for their places in life. The competition was organized by Vera Beauty College and Eldoret Prison. Officer in charge of the women prison Beatrice Were hailed Letting for being disciplined and cheerful.
Rahab Njoki and Christine Achoyo were the first and second runners-up respectively.
The judges based on ability to speak in public and cat walking skills to declare winners during the competition.
