The prisoners led by Sylvia Kemunto speaking when they were released on Friday said they will adhere to the laws of the land.

“I have been in jail for the last one year and was serving two years in prison after I was jailed for child trafficking. I am happy that the government has released me to take care of my children who I left with my mother in the village,” she said.

Another prisoner Lawrence Obare said he will not go against the law again.

“I have reformed from my bad ways and I promise that I will not commit any crime again. I call upon Kisii residents to pray hard so that they don’t find themselves in jail,” he said.

Lydia Moraa said since she was jailed eight months ago she trained to be a pastor and promised to preach the word of God who has intervened for them to be released.

“It is not that easy for a prisoner to be released. I thank God for his intervation to have us out of jail. I will remain a good citizen to ensure no one around me commits crime," she said.
