The mother of six was forcefully evicted from the 5-acre land over a dispute with the developer.

Wangari Nyokabi said she legally acquired the land in 1983 and has lived there for 33 years.

The now homeless Nyokabi accused Alice Chepng'etich, the developer, of forging the title deed of the land.

Nyokabi claims a group of armed police officers came to her home on Friday with a court order for her eviction and threw out her personal belongings before demolishing her mud-walled house.

Her neighbours angered by the development are now calling on the National Land Commission chairman Muhammad Swazuri to take up the matter and help protect the rights of the elderly in the county.
