Private hospitals in Kisii county have been witnessing large numbers of patients as most of the public hospital remains closed following ongoing country-wide nurses and doctors strike .
According to some of the patients at a Kisii based private hospital, Jasper Hospital they had no option but to get services from the private facilities despite the high prices.
Griffins Ayieko one of the patients in the que said that he has been in the hospital for over two hours but he hasn't been attended to due to the large numbers of patients that flocked the hospital which has a small number of staff to handle them.
“I have been in pain and weak but I have no option but to wait until my turn comes so that I can be attended to by the nurse,” he added.
According to a nurse at the facility Esther Saringi, the number of patients for the last two days has been increasing due to the ongoing strike and they are trying their best to ensure they serve them.
