Speaking during the education stakeholders meeting in Seme Sub County, Kisumu yesterday, Kenya Private Schools Association Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndoro said implementing such policy in the Education sector would spell a big disaster in the system.

“If the government must ban the ranking of schools in the national examinations then it must be prepared to employ more Standard quality assurance officers as the alternative,” Ndoro said.

He said ranking of schools in national examinations has contributed immensely on the schools performance check.

For instance, Nyakemincha primary school in Nyamira was ranked the worst performing school nationally but improved due to performance check by the education stakeholders.

Ndoro said it is in incumbent upon the government to implementing what is working in favour of the syste and not individual interests. He added that ranking of learning institutions ensures quality competition among students.
