Private schools did exceptionally well in the recently released KCPE exam results. It was no different in Garissa County, where the private schools performed far better than the public schools in the area. The private schools scoped all top 10 candidates' position in the county list, and not even one of the public schools made it to the list of top candidates in the county.Reasons for the poor performance in public primary schools has been said to be due to the shortage of teachers, insecurity, and poor performance. The top student at Mnara Academy was Abdulathim Mohammed, who managed to score 410 marks out of the possible 500 marks. Hibbo Ali managed 408 and Maryan Ali got 407. Isat Abdullahi was the best girl at Al Azar, indicating an improved performance from the girls, who continue to impress in the recent past in the county. “I want to give special thanks to my parents who gave me all support I needed.
