Pro-NASA political analyst Prof. Harman Manyora has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to declare President Uhuru Kenyatta as duly elected president following August 26 repeat poll.
This, Manyora says, will open for Uhuru's swearing-in so that the 'country can have a substantial President'.
"I want Uhuru to be sworn in immediately because with the confidence that comes with him regaining all his presidential powers, then this country will have a sense of direction and normalcy," Manyora told Citizen TV's Extra show on Monday.
Manyora noted that the President's confidence may have gone down for the last few months where he has only been exercising 'the power of incumbency' and, therefore, his swearing-in will be a good thing for the country.
He adds that after the President assumes office for his second and last term, he will be mindful of the legacy he leaves behind and will certainly work to bring the country together than divide it further'.
At the same time, Manyora ruled out the possibility of Raila Odinga's NASA challenging Uhuru's second re-election victory at the Supreme Court saying that ‘’only busybodies would consider it as a viable option’'.
"Going to court will yield nothing for NASA. For now, let us say Jubilee has got smart brains behind it and we shall live to fight another day. This country is bigger than anyone of us," admitted Manyora who had predicted a landslide victory for Raila ahead of August 8 polls.
